8: Road Trip

Road Trip

Driving through farm towns at night, 80 west not a star in sight.

Elevated Water towers alight, holding onto what I hold tight.

Wishing so deeply to be near.

Rest area monuments stand out like lighthouses in the sea.

The road much smoother than the unpredictability

of travel on the varying paths for me.

Im longing to feel it near me, uncontainable unencumbered sea

My car not a boat,

the road not the sea.

Only distraction from road noise is singing along to Bobby McGhee.

Concrete or mono crop are the most of what open eyes see.

Not a star, but gps, guiding the journey.

And longing to feel any good, was the only good in me.
