Laundry and Life
Life sometimes feels like a laundry cycle.
So many different steps,
a differentiation of care instructions
Variables of fabric, colors, patterns
Some can be washed in unison
Others need delicate treatment.
Some can take a heat and tumble cycle
While others are left hanging from lines
All the while, most of us are being put through
such a dizzying spin cycle
that is often too hard to keep up.
Like a to-do list that is never-ending
With fresh folds burying the old tattered keepsakes
we keep buried in our dresser drawers,
hidden from company and strangers.
