Bad Principles
This is a place for kids.
Holding students to a higher standard,
than the adult in the room,
seems misguided.
Your punitiveness towards
young melanated men
leads to their disenfranchisement
towards learning.
Leading them to seek out
ways to cope.
All while grown adults can
demean and belittle without consequence.
As a principal,
you’re supposed
to be a part of the solution.
And your lack of
pattern recognition and reflection
is deplorable.
You willing will, sacrifice a young man,
to save a broken and burned out adult
who refuses to work on themselves
and lashes out in traumatic ways.
Seems like a spark
to the powderkeg
of redlining and violence
in my community.
